Why Peppa Pig Miss Rabbit is our Hero!

Why Peppa Pig Miss Rabbit is our Hero!

It’s one of those cartoons your little one loves, and so do you! With loveable characters, easy to follow storylines and entertaining subjects, Peppa Pig is a hit with kids and parents alike. And don't you just know about it with just about every 3 year old gift idea centering around Peppa Pig toys.

With fun-loving jibes at Daddy Pig being unfit, running jokes about George’s dinosaur and Mummy pig always on her computer, we can often relate.

If you haven’t seen the episode when Daddy Pig takes Peppa and George to work to show them how he uses stamps, it’s one worth digging out for comedy value alone.

Who’s Who?
Some of the most popular characters include; Pedro Pony, Grandad Pig, Captain Emergency, Mr Elephant, Chloe Pig, Baby Alexander, Richard Rabbit, Rosie and Robbie Rabbit, Suzy Sheep, Danny Dog, Zuzu Zebra, Freddy Fox and Kylie Kangaroo.

But one character that stands out is Peppa Pig's Miss Rabbit.

If you’re unfamiliar with her character, Miss Rabbit could easily be a bit of a know-it-all, but instead she’s presented as a warm character with a heroic work ethic and kind family. She works endless hours and does so with a smile on her face. She’s a bus driver, helicopter pilot, an engineer and a fire fighter, she works in a shop (which looks a lot like Asda!) and a recycling plant, as an air hostess and a librarian!

What can we learn from Miss Rabbit?

Sure, it’s just a cartoon but Miss Rabbit teaches us some important life lessons.

  1. You can do anything you want without limitations – sure she’s a bunny, but she’s also an air hostess and a pilot.
  2. Gender doesn’t matter – one day she’s a firefighter then next she works in an ice-cream shop, she’s not defined by her gender, but by her talent. Miss Rabbit is indeed the role model we all yearn to be (and I bet she's not a fussy eater either)
  3. Love what you do – whether she’s driving the school bus or checking you in to a flight, Miss Rabbit does so with a smile on her face. If there was ever an empowering role model, surely, she’s it!?

The Queen episode
One episode which perfectly sums this up is the one where Miss Rabbit receives a medal from the Queen for being the hardest working person in the country.

On the day that she finds out, she faints then picks herself up and says: “I can’t visit the Queen, I’ve got too much work to do!” – and that sums her up! Peppa Pig is also available in toddler book format too!
