If there's one thing that toddlers love, it's splish splash! Whether jumping in muddy puddles, or diving off a pool's side, it's their total vibe!

So, when it’s time for ‘splish splash’ UK water parks are some of the best places for a fun days out with the kids. Offering tropical climates, gargantuan water slides and more water cannons than I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here, you’re in for a good time.

Here's a pick of some of the best water parks in the UK for 2022, please do check ahead of visiting, as you may need to book in advance in compliance with Covid-safe restrictions.

Coral Reef, Berkshire

One of the closest water parks to London, Coral Reef is nestled in the leaft suburbs of Bracknell. This immersive water world is all about the fun, so alongside pirate ships, wave machines and a toddler pool, there's also big water slides for older kids (and brave adults) to enjoy.

Alton Towers Water Park, Staffordshire

This interactive water park features crazy canons and water coasters, and there’s plenty of water activities to keep the little ones entertained in its tropical lagoon. Featuring the ‘Master Blaster’ fearsome water slide, the ‘Rush N Rampage’ where you choose the light an music to slide out to, and the outdoor ‘Flash Floods’ outdoor flume adventure, there’s something for everyone! Tickets to Alton Park (which include day tickets) also make a great gift for toddlers, pre-schoolers and children of all ages. The best kids gift is a day out loaded with fun.

The Wave, Bristol

A relative newcomer, but one that nonetheless is highly worthy of a mention is The Wave. This extraordinary inland surf destination is perfect for family UK holidays with children from 6+. You can camp, unplug and hit the waves with its unique lake and man-made waves, ensuring that you’re always guaranteed a surf, all year-round. As if you needed further convincing, Joe Wicks recently went with all the family.

Sandcastle Waterpark, Blackpool

Blackpool may be famous for it’ tower, but to kids, it’s all about the water park. The UKs largest indoor water park does not disappoint with more than 18 rides and a 84-degree tropical climate, as well as numerous attractions with fun themes. Thrill seekers will love ‘Aztec Falls’  while the truly brave will be tested with the white knuckle sidewinder ride – an almost vertical drop into a half-pipe below. It’s not all crazy times though, the VIP Tiki Cabana is the perfect spot for grown up’s to enjoy too.

LC Swansea, Wales

Work up an appetite at the largest water park in Wales. This venue is filled with adrenalin educing activities for all the kids to enjoy, including a very fun indoor surf machine! There’s also a four storey play area, 30ft indoor climbing wall and state-of-the-art gym, and spa for some much-needed rest. Be sure to book in advance, due to covid-secure measures in place.

Splashdown, Devon and Dorset

You know you’re in for a good time when the strapline is ‘flamin good fun’! Best teamed with a weekend away to the south coast of Devon or Dorset (there’s one in each), Splashdown has earnt a legendary reputation as family fun water parks. With huge flumes and thrilling water rides, huge pools with tyre, mat and body rides – this is one place the kids will be screaming to return to.
