Paying tribute to the great city of Liverpool, here’s a spin on a classic – with a child friendly twist. We took inspiration for this recipe by many hacks we’ve seen on Instagram, including @squashedpickle.
What is 'Scouse' food?
‘Scouse’ is a kind of stew native to Liverpool, which uses chunks of meat, carrots, onion and potato. It was very popular in the 19th century by local sailors who enjoyed it on their travels. Our cheat version it super easy to make, here’s what you need.

Ingredients:
- 1 x Ready-made roll-out puff pastry
- 1 x Chunky thick beef and onion soup
- 1 x Small onion
- 1 x Carrot
Method:
- Grease a muffin tray
- Cut circles from the pastry and line the tray
- Add a dollop of thick chunky soup to each pie, along with finely chopped carrot and onion
- Top with another layer of pastry, slicing it at the top (you can always use mashed potato if preferred)
- Glaze with milk
- Pop in the oven for 10 minutes, or until nice and golden
- Allow to cool down and serve on your Thomas & FriendsTM Track Plate from Munchy Play!

What is Eurovision and why do we love it so much?
The Eurovision Song Contest is a much-loved annual music event that has been held since 1956. Each of the participating countries each send a musical act to perform an original song on a live television broadcast, with viewers from all over the world voting for their favorite performances. The winning country then hosts the contest the following year.. This year we the UK is hosting in place of Ukraine, as runners up from 2022.
