Essential apps for new parents

Essential apps for new parents

One of the great things about being pregnant in the 21st century is the availability of information at the touch of our fingertips.  For anyone with a smartphone and a young child, there's a couple of brilliant family Apps that are worth checking out. (Costs are subject to change)

1. My Pregnancy Today – BabyCentre (Free)
Fans of the Babycentre website will be pleased to know that they have a free downloadable app. It’s super resourceful with lots of tips and advice, and you can even capture your growing bump, as well as stay up to date with all the trending baby news. If that wasn’t enough their free newsletters are great too.

2. Pregnancy+ (Free)
As far as cool things go, the Pregnancy+ app is top of the list! If you don’t want to miss out on the excitement of how your baby changes day-to-day, then this is the app for you! Chart your baby’s progress and development with adorable comparisons – one day they’re a lentil, a few weeks later a melon!

3. The Wonder Weeks (Free)
There are several versions of this app available, but the free version is a great introduction to it. According to the Wonder Weeks, your baby will go through predictable ‘leaps’ through his or her development. These can be calculated and tracked, so that you know when they are having an off day, the new ‘tricks’ they have learnt and the mental milestones to look out for. Fascinating and accurate, it’s hugely insightful particularly for first-time parents.

4. Baby Tracker (Free)
In those first few early weeks of being a new parent, it’s great to have a tracker to keep on top of everything.  It can rather handily record the frequency of baby’s feeding, pooping and sleeping schedule, which when you’re suffering with baby brain, is a godsend
