A lowdown of the best half-term activities in London for Easter 2022.
Easter will be here before you know it, so now is a good time to plan ahead for days out with the kids.
Whether you live in London, or taking a trip to the capital, there’s so much going on for children of all ages to coincide with school term dates. From DJ events for children, to kids’ Easter egg hunts and free family days out near me. Here’s eight of the best.
1. FUN DMC, Hoxton – Sunday 3 April (12-3pm)
East London is a hub of all things cool, so we’re not surprised to see that it’s hosting a fun music event for family days out. Held early afternoon, the Family Block Party is a family-friendly club night operating by day in the achingly cool Hoxton Square. With block-rocking beats and all the disco vibes, it’s more rave-rave-rave your boat, than row-row-row your boat. Plus there’s soft play, face painting and dance competitions. No doubt, one of the April half-term highlights.
Tickets from £6.50 at fundmc.co.uk
2. Hidden Trails – Kidzania (4-18 April)
Running throughout the April for Easter half-term 2022, Kidzania is hosting a ton of fun Easter activities in its magnificent mini-city. Ideal for slightly older children, there’s a flying experience with British Airways, a Pokémon experience, and an opportunity to try out for the Fire Brigade. Inspiring imaginations, it’s always a fun way to spend a day. Get tickets at kidzania.co.uk
3. Day Out with Thomas™ – East Anglian Railway Museum (15-18 April)
Easter half-term may be drawing to a close, but the fun isn’t. Day out with Thomas returns to the East Anglian Railway Museum, promising a fun family day out with Thomas & Friends ™. Take a train ride with Thomas, meet Sir Topham Hatt and enjoy many more activities. Oh, and don’t forget to complete the day with a Munchy Play Train Plate from the gift shop. 4. Battersea Park Children’s Zoo
One of London’s hidden gems, Battersea Park Zoo is the perfect place if you’re looking for family days out with gifts (the cute gift shop is very affordable). Nestled within the Park itself, it’s a clever way to get kids out into the great outdoors, with the River Thames for exploring afterwards. The zoo is home to much-loved animals, from monkeys through to guinea pigs, and is extremely child-friendly. Usually for easter, there’s also an Easter Egg hunt for the kids to get involved in too. Don’t miss out.
5. Easter Service – St Paul’s Cathedral
Throughout Holy Week, a number of services will be taking place at the world-famous Cathedral in central London. It’s one of several services throughout the capital, alongside St Martin-in-the-field and Southwark Cathedral. It’s what April half-term is all about.
6. The London Wetland Centre – Duck trail (2-18 April)
You’d have to be ‘quackers’ to miss this fun family day out with the kids. Ideal for toddlers, slap on your best puddle suit and get them in their wellies, for a day of outdoor fun. To coincide with the Easter half-term, there’s ducks hidden around the wetlands for you to spot.

7.Get a Chocolate egg
Lest we forget that Easter is the perfect opportunity to indulge in some chocolatey treats. London is full of fantastic restaurants, diners and chocolatiers to discover this April half-term. When in doubt, head to Covent Garden and you won’t have to look far to discover some treats.
8. Watch The Passion of Jesus
There’s no holding back in the free performance of the Passion of Jesus. Probably best suited to older children, this event takes place annual in Trafalgar Square on Good Friday. In recent years it has become a popular UK attraction for families.
