From walks in the picturesque Norfolk broads to a ‘McPicnic’, here’s what summer 2020 has in store…
Woodside Drive-in Cinema – Wiral
Not a fan of enclosed spaces? There’s plenty of drive-in cinemas to enjoy this summer, including family favourite Woodside Drive-in near Chester.
For just £15 per car entry. you can watch family classics like; The Goonies, The Greatest Showman and Mama Mia from the comfort of your car. Bring your own popcorn, drinks and favourite teddies and make a day and night out of it. Much excitement for the little ones!
Kew Gardens in London
Set in 330 acres of green space, Kew Gardens is a tranquil spot in nestled within London’s leafy suburbs. Ensuring they keep it that way, you will need to pre-book before visiting. It’s the perfect escape for a day out, with so much to explore and enjoy. Take your picnic and enjoy the masses of space, dare to walk the mega-high treetop walk, and check out the newly opened children’s’ area. It’s full of great features including water, sand, sensory tunnels and an ice-cream stand!
Tickets are £17.50 an adult, and children are just £5.50 (under 4s go free). If you’re a family of three, you can take advantage of a family ticket for 2 adults and a child for £25.
West Wittering beach day out, West Sussex
For those in the south, the beaches in West Wittering make for a fantastic day out. Sand dunes and soft sand await, along with a clear sea you can dip into.
To ensure numbers are kept reasonable, parking must be booked in advance and costs £8. Once there you can soak up the rays, dip in the water or collect shells. If you dare to go further, then you can even hire a body board for £10.
London Transport Museum
Really good fun for children of all ages, learn about London’s proud transport since 1800. And exclusively for the summer, it has opened the doors to its depot (19-23 and 26-30 August) with over 320,000 artefacts to discover. So, if your little one is into cars, trains or buses, then this is for you!
Also tickets are valid for 12 months from booking, giving you plenty of flexibility.
What do you mean you haven’t had a McPicnic?! An outdoor ‘Mcpicnic’ is all the rage this summer. Simply download the McDonalds App and place your order in advance to collect, then find a green spot and pitch up. Bring your Tea Party plate for all those chicken nuggets you’ll be gorging on. And why not!
The McDonalds menu is cheaper than before with the tax discounts. So, now you can get a Happy Meal for £2.59, which includes a Scooby Doo toy to keep little ones entertained.
Day out to Norfolk
On beautiful sunny days, there’s 125 miles of waterways in and around Norfolk. Its picturesque to just walk around.
