What to order: The Unicorn Vanilla Cupcake, although we think it might be too pretty to eat!
The Great British Cupcakery
Perfect for afternoon tea, why not make an occasion of it, with a delightful menu of cakes, coffees in their Parlourhouse in Newcastle.
What to order: Afternoon tea is reasonably priced at £19.99 with miniature brownies and cupcakes included on your serving plate!
Another London favourite, the Primose Bakery is known for its creative collection of afternoon delights. With indulgent chocolate frostings to sweet treats which you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere, this is the place to come for something a little different.

When it comes to dining out with your child, you’re spoilt for choice in Oxford.
This buzzing city has plenty of fine, affordable and welcoming eateries, catering for all - from students to families and tourists to weaning babies, all are welcome! And with stunning architecture and breath-taking backdrops, it’s a great place for a post-meal walk too!
If you’re looking for a casual spot of food, with everyone’s favourites on the menu, then La Cucina is for you. The smell of fresh oven baked pizza fills the room, along with tummies, but there’s also favourite pasta dishes to choose from too.

Located in Northgate Hall on St Michael’s Street, Bill’s might be a chain restaurant, but it’s menu is excellent, catering particularly well to children. Perfect portions are served up on kid’s plates, like beans on toast (for just £1.95!) as well as more adventurous Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips, this is a tourist favourite while still being very kind on your purse, and much loved by fussy eaters too!
Portabello Bar & Grill
Great food, great service and great for kids, Portabello Restaurant in Summertown offers sumptuous dishes. It includes a set price children’s menu (£7.50) offering three-courses, with all the classics from sausages and chips to macaroni cheese. Somehow, we think they will be most excited about the chocolate fudge brownie!
Gees Restaurant and Bar
Set in a stunning Victorian conservatory, this is a well-known and much-loved landmark that serves great tasty dishes. While parents can knock back their signature Bloody Mary, younger ones can pick at some of the great bar dishes, including Spanish food favourites – their mixed tapas sharing plate.
